After several years of declining use, the day has come: another surface has officially surpassed granite in terms of popularity. Any guesses as to what the new countertop du jour might be?
It’s quartz, otherwise known as engineered stone. The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) reports that while granite is less desirable these days, the use of quartz is on the rise (by kitchen designers anyway.
Coffee table books instantly add personality and interest; they make the space feel like a home, and of course entertainment for the lingering guest. And the best part? They’re easily edited and changed whenever it strikes your fancy.
Stack your favorite books by color, by topic and/or size. Get creative; don’t take the stacks too seriously and change them around until they’re just right.

Have you noticed how many magazine love to feature homes decorated in white? I love the look.
I would never do it.
Husbands, pets, kids, grandkids make the color (and it is a color) white to be impractical. However, it photographs beautifully and when you want to dream…why not dream in white?

I never get tired of stripes. I wear a lot of clothing with stripes and I think no matter the size of your interior space, stripes are awesome. Go bold or go home or do both! 🙂
